Chapter Six
Carson patted his stomach and downed the rest of his beer. After finally arriving on the island just before dinnertime, they’d dropped their bags at the hotel and headed to Big Al’s, an eating establishment known for their large shrimp. Now that his stomach was sated, he hoped to satisfy another part of his anatomy.
“Let’s go for a walk on the beach.” Even though the day’s events had worn him out, he seemed to be riding on a high. He didn’t know if it came from thoughts of those troopers watching his wife or what.
Something about Josie had changed during the time on the side of the road. With each opened button, she had seemed to sway like she was moving to music in her head. Her flushed cheeks had grown even pinker as she licked her lips. Had she enjoyed exposing herself to the men? For sure, it had excited him. His heart raced, cock straining against his shorts, and his balls tightened. What the hell would she think if she knew the whole thing had turned him on?
Now, a walk seemed a relaxing way to end the day. What could go wrong on the beach?
A walk on the beach. Something he could never had said in Wisconsin. In February. A few days before Valentine’s Day.
“Sounds romantic,” Josie said, giving him a quick kiss.
After driving back to the hotel, Carson opened the trunk.
“What are you doing?”
“Getting a blanket. I have this urge to make love to my beautiful wife on the beach.”
Josie’s smile radiated her love. She slipped her hand through the crook of his elbow and pressed her breast to his arm. “Sounds like a great idea.”
Ten minutes later, Carson was ready to throw the blanket in the ocean. It was the parking incident all over again. Either Josie thought there was too much light, not enough coverage to hide them from the moon’s rays, or they were too close to a hotel. With so many of them along the beach, how the hell were they going to find a spot where there wasn’t a hotel or one of their guests taking an evening stroll?
He wondered how many others were searching for a place for sex on the beach. At one point, they were certain they’d found the perfect place, only to be interrupted by another couple’s amorous noises. Perfect for someone else, but not them.
“There has to be some place we can go, and I don’t mean in the car in the parking lot,” Josie said. “I don’t want to go back to the hotel, either.”
Carson looked down at her feet. She wore sandals, just as he did, that also served as water shoes. Even though the tide was still out, what he had in mind meant they could get wet.
“Are you willing to take a chance?”
“To do what?”
“I think I see a path through the bushes up ahead. If we’re lucky, there won’t be anyone over there to interrupt us.”
Holding back branches, he pulled his wife through the bushes like they were going through a tunnel, opening to another beach.
